About Tour Switzerland

What this site is

Tour Switzerland is an independent travel guide to Switzerland. We built it because every time we tried to plan a Swiss trip we had to dig through a dozen sources to figure out the basics: which pass actually saves money, which mountain excursion is worth the price, where to stay in each region, and which scenic train is more than just hype. So we wrote it all down.

Every guide on the site is researched, written, fact-checked and updated against the latest official sources. If you spot something out of date or wrong, email us and we'll fix it.

Our mission

Switzerland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but it can also be one of the most confusing to plan for. Between the Swiss Travel Pass, regional passes, mountain railways and hundreds of activity options, there's a lot to figure out.

The goal is simple: give you the information you need to make the most of your time and money in Switzerland. No fluff, no sponsored rankings, no hidden agendas.

How we work

Every guide is based on thorough research and official sources — SBB (Swiss Federal Railways), MySwitzerland, cantonal tourism boards, and individual operator websites. Prices and schedules are verified for the current year and reviewed at least every six months. Each guide carries a "Last updated" date at the top so you can see at a glance how fresh it is.

We aim for accuracy above all else. When we can't verify a detail, we say so. When two sources disagree, we name them and explain the difference.

How we earn money

Tour Switzerland is free to use. We earn a commission when you book activities through our partner links — primarily GetYourGuide. This never costs you anything extra, and it's what keeps the site running and ad-free.

Importantly, our affiliate partnerships never influence what we recommend. We suggest activities and passes because we genuinely think they're worth your time, not because of commission rates. Read our full affiliate disclosure for more details.

Editorial standards

  • Independence. We are not affiliated with Switzerland Tourism, SBB or any single tour operator. Our recommendations reflect what we genuinely believe, not paid placements.
  • Freshness. Each guide is reviewed at least every six months. The "Last updated" date is shown at the top of every article.
  • Sources. We link out to official operator sites (SBB, ski resorts, museums, cable car companies) so you can verify prices and book directly if you prefer.
  • Corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it and credit the reader who flagged it.
